What a Maryland Resident Agent Does
Your resident agent is the official recipient of lawsuits (service of process) and state correspondence for your LLC — including anything SDAT sends about the April 15 Form 1. Maryland requires one continuously from formation onward; an LLC whose agent resigns or vanishes drifts out of good standing and toward forfeiture.
