Review Methodology
This page explains how LLC School researches, compares, and evaluates business formation services, registered agent providers, hosting companies, banking products, and other commercial services mentioned on the website.
Last updated: August 8, 2026
The short version: our goal is to separate verifiable product facts from editorial opinions, use consistent evaluation criteria, disclose affiliate relationships, and explain why a service may or may not be a good fit for a particular reader.
Why We Publish Reviews and Comparisons
Many people forming or managing an LLC consider using third-party services for tasks such as formation, registered agent service, business banking, website hosting, or related business needs.
Our reviews and comparisons are designed to help readers understand the differences between available options rather than simply present a list of affiliate links.
We aim to explain both what a service offers and who it may or may not be suitable for.
What We Evaluate
Evaluation factors may vary by category, but common criteria include:
Advertised price, required fees, recurring costs, and important additional charges where applicable.
What is included in the base offer and what requires an additional purchase or higher plan.
How clearly the provider explains pricing, renewals, limitations, additional services, and important terms.
How understandable the product, ordering process, account experience, or service workflow appears to users.
Available support channels, published support information, and other support factors relevant to the service.
Whether the combination of price and included features appears competitive for the type of customer being considered.
Important disadvantages, missing features, restrictions, or conditions that readers should understand before buying.
Whether the service may be more useful for beginners, budget-focused founders, privacy-conscious owners, or another specific type of user.
How We Research Services
Depending on the product and the information available, research may include:
- official provider websites;
- pricing and product pages;
- terms, policies, and published feature information;
- publicly available support information;
- reputable third-party information where useful;
- documented user feedback or complaints when relevant and appropriately contextualized; and
- direct product experience where such experience has actually occurred.
Important: LLC School does not describe a product as personally tested unless relevant first-hand testing or use actually occurred. Research based on published information is different from hands-on experience, and we aim to keep that distinction clear.
How Rankings and Recommendations Are Decided
Rankings such as “best overall,” “best value,” or “best for privacy” are editorial judgments. They should reflect the criteria relevant to that comparison and the needs of the intended reader.
A provider does not automatically become the best choice simply because it is inexpensive, has the largest feature list, or pays an affiliate commission.
Different readers can reasonably need different services. For that reason, we may identify different providers for different use cases rather than claim that one provider is universally best for everyone.
Facts vs. Editorial Opinions
We try to separate objective product facts from our editorial assessment.
Examples of product facts
- published price;
- renewal price;
- whether a feature is included;
- published refund policy;
- available plan levels; and
- published service terms.
Examples of editorial judgments
- best for beginners;
- best value;
- easiest option;
- strongest overall package; or
- better fit for a particular type of user.
Editorial opinions should be based on identifiable criteria rather than presented as objective facts.
Affiliate Relationships
LLC School may earn a commission when readers use certain links and purchase eligible products or services.
Affiliate compensation should not determine factual conclusions or guarantee positive placement in a comparison.
We aim to disclose material affiliate relationships clearly so readers understand when LLC School may receive compensation.

No Guaranteed Ranking Because of Payment
An affiliate relationship does not guarantee a provider a particular ranking, recommendation, score, or positive conclusion.
Similarly, ending an affiliate relationship should not by itself determine whether factual information about a provider remains on LLC School.
Commercial relationships and editorial evaluation should remain separate.
How We Handle Provider Claims
Providers sometimes use terms such as “free,” “fastest,” “best,” “guaranteed,” or other marketing language.
We do not automatically treat marketing statements as independently verified facts.
When a claim is important to our review, we aim to identify what is actually included, what conditions apply, and whether the claim can be supported by reliable information.
Pricing and Feature Changes
Commercial products can change more quickly than general educational content. Prices, promotions, features, renewal charges, and availability may change after a review is published.
We therefore treat important commercial facts as time-sensitive information and aim to review them periodically or when reliable information shows that a change has occurred.
Readers should confirm current pricing and terms directly with the provider before purchasing.
How Reviews Are Updated
Review pricing, features, terms, and other important product information.
Identify whether important advantages, disadvantages, or conditions changed.
Consider whether the existing recommendation or ranking still makes sense.
Revise the review when meaningful new information changes the analysis.
Reader Feedback and Corrections
If you believe a review contains outdated pricing, an incorrect product feature, or another factual problem, please tell us.
We aim to verify reported factual issues before making a substantive change.
See our Corrections Policy for more information.
What Our Reviews Are Not
LLC School reviews are general educational and editorial content. They are not guarantees that a particular service will be suitable for every reader or every business.
Readers should review the provider's current pricing, terms, features, privacy practices, refund policies, and other important information before making a purchase.
