What the Articles of Organization Do
The Articles of Organization are your LLC's birth certificate. When the DLCP accepts your filing, your LLC exists: liability protection attaches, the name is claimed, and you can bank and contract as the company.

Required Statements, Disclosures and Execution
LLC name
With "LLC" or "Limited Liability Company," distinguishable on district records — verified in Step 1.
Registered agent & address
Name of your registered agent and their D.C. street address.
Principal office address
The statute requires the initial principal-office street and mailing addresses and registered-agent information under §29-104.04. The conditional series statement is required if separate-series liability treatment under §29-802.06 is intended. Official §29-802.01.
Form disclosures and organizer execution
Distinguish the statute’s required statements from execution and administrative disclosures. The currently linked DLC-1 requests at-least-one-member certification, applicable professional/series provisions, specified ownership/control disclosures and organizer name/address/signature/date. Do not omit required form fields merely because they are outside §29-802.01(b)’s contents list.
Payment
DLCP lists a $99 base domestic LLC filing fee. Expedited and walk-in service can add charges; DLCP’s domestic LLC page identifies an additional $100 one-day walk-in fee. Confirm the selected method and total. Official LLC fee schedule.
