Kansas LLC Information Report (Biennial) — Step 6 of 8
Kansas replaced its Information Report (Biennial) with a Information Report (Biennial) back in 2024 — you now only file every other year, on a schedule that matches your LLC's formation-year parity.
File the Information Report (Biennial) every two years, due April 15 in succeeding years matching the LLC’s formation-year parity. Total fees are $90 online / $110 paper: $80 statutory base, $5/$25 service fee and $5 technology fee. A separate $10 report penalty can apply. A three-month delinquency interval is not a penalty-free extension; failure to file can lead to forfeiture.

What the Information Report (Biennial) Involves
Kansas's compliance filing is genuinely simpler than most states' — you file every other year, matched to the parity of your formation year:
- Total fee: $90 online / $110 paper — $80 base plus $5/$25 service and $5 technology charges. Current ILC form and totals.
- Due every 2 years, not every year — replaced the old Information Report (Biennial) as of January 2024, halving your filing frequency.
- Matches your formation parity — LLCs formed in even years file in even years; LLCs formed in odd years file in odd years. Simpler to remember: it's always your formation year plus 2, then every 2 years after that.
- Due April 15 — use the required reporting year matching formation parity. It is not a movable deadline based on a chosen tax closing month.
- Filed with: the Kansas Secretary of State through KanAccess, or by mail.

How to File
- File through the official SOS report route — $90 online or $110 paper; keep proof of acceptance.
- Review your information — confirm your LLC's name, resident agent, principal address, and member details are still accurate.
- Change resident agent separately — Form ROA costs $30 online or $35 paper for an LLC.
- File as early as January 1st of your reporting year — no penalty for filing early, and it's one less thing to remember by April.
- Late filing risks penalties and forfeiture — a separate $10 report penalty can apply. After the three-month delinquency interval, forfeiture blocks other filings until required reports and reinstatement are completed.
The every-other-year gap is easy to lose track ofBecause you only file every 2 years, it's easy to forget the exact deadline by the time it rolls around. Set a calendar reminder now for two years out — your resident agent should also receive a state reminder ahead of the due date, so keeping that address current matters here too.
- ✓Optional formation assistance; confirm filing scope, service pricing and submission responsibilities.
- ✓Confirm reminder and follow-up filing services; the LLC remains responsible for its deadlines.
- ✓Confirm registered-agent eligibility, coverage, included periods and renewal charges.
- ✓Review address-use rules and privacy policies; a service does not remove all information from public filings.

Information Report Total Fees
The current Form ILC lists $90 online and $110 paper. Those are totals; the $5/$25 service components alone are not the filing amount. Preserve formation-year parity, the April 15 due date and the three-month delinquency/forfeiture sequence. Agent changes use the separate change filing, not the Information Report.
