Kansas LLC Biennial Report — Step 6 of 8
Kansas replaced its Annual Report with a Biennial Information Report back in 2024 — you now only file every other year, on a schedule that matches your LLC's formation-year parity.
Every Kansas LLC files a Biennial Information Report every 2 years, due April 15 (the 15th day of the 4th month after your tax-year end, for calendar-year filers). The cycle matches your LLC's formation-year parity — LLCs formed in even years file in even years; LLCs formed in odd years file in odd years. It costs $50 online or $55 by mail. Miss it, and you get a 3-month grace period before your LLC forfeits.

What the Biennial Report Involves
Kansas's compliance filing is genuinely simpler than most states' — you file every other year, matched to the parity of your formation year:
- Fee: $50 online, $55 by mail — one of the more affordable compliance filings in the country.
- Due every 2 years, not every year — replaced the old Annual Report as of January 2024, halving your filing frequency.
- Matches your formation parity — LLCs formed in even years file in even years; LLCs formed in odd years file in odd years. Simpler to remember: it's always your formation year plus 2, then every 2 years after that.
- Due April 15 — the 15th day of the 4th month after your tax closing month, which is April 15 for the vast majority of LLCs using a December tax year.
- Filed with: the Kansas Secretary of State through KanAccess, or by mail.

How to File
- File online through KanAccess for instant processing and the cheapest rate, $50.
- Review your information — confirm your LLC's name, resident agent, principal address, and member details are still accurate.
- You can't change your resident agent here — that requires the separate "Change of Registered Agent" form and its own $35 fee.
- File as early as January 1st of your reporting year — no penalty for filing early, and it's one less thing to remember by April.
- Missing the window risks forfeiture — a 3-month grace period follows the April 15 deadline; after that, your LLC forfeits and can't file anything else until reinstated.
The every-other-year gap is easy to lose track ofBecause you only file every 2 years, it's easy to forget the exact deadline by the time it rolls around. Set a calendar reminder now for two years out — your resident agent should also receive a state reminder ahead of the due date, so keeping that address current matters here too.
